Lessons of The Heart
=====================
Love is not the latest ballad on the radio It is the song of a lifetime
Love is not the rock on the finger of the girl you plan to marry It is the size of the boulder you move to repair the marriage
Love is not the fairy tale that ends with happy ever after It is the hand that wipes away the tears
Love is not in the spotlight
It is waiting in the shadows
Love is not winning the argument
It is listening with an open heart
Love is not flowers or candy
It is truth and honesty
Love is not the ease of the quest
It is the commitment to the relationship
Love is not expensive restaurants
It is the sacrifice made to feed a child
Love is not the dream come true
It is chasing nightmares away
Love is not the success of money
It is the failure to find fault
Love is not sweet nothings whispered in the ear It is accepting the thoughts of others
Love is not the perfect picture
It is the flaw that makes us who we are.

a nerve-wracking internet connection
anyway, I'll posting reviews of the mangas I've been reading and have completely read. if you're a manga/anime fan, be sure to check it out.
about TOCA Race Driver 3, I still can't make a decent review up to this point because i wanted to unlock most if not all the championships/cups in the game. a racing wheel is a recommended controller for this game, but a gamepad (which is what I'm using) will do just fine for most of the cars, but will give you a lot of trouble for handling other cars.
that's all for now.. ^_^

Happy Valentine's Day!
buying online products is quite fun. receiving your product at your doorstep surely makes your day complete after days or weeks of waiting. this day however marked a day that i made a fool out of myself for purchasing online... hehehe..
i purchased a bouquet of flowers to my girlfriend for today's occasion a few weeks ago. i informed the seller to deliver at 1pm today. when my girlfriend and i went out for lunch, i was surprised that the front desk personnel called melay to receive her package, the bouquet. after our lunch, we opened the box. and as we are opening it, another box arrived. another bouquet.. and it was all sent by me.. hahahaha! i never thought i have ordered twice and from different shops too! hehe. this is my first time to giver her flowers on a valentine's day and it surely make up for the past few years.. hehehehe..
i hope all of you had a great valentine's day... 'till next time... ^_^

Test Drive Unlimited

Next month is the release of another exciting racing game in pc, the Test Drive Unlimited. I hope I'll be able to play this one. Actually, there are a lot of racing games that I want to play yet I can't because I don't have a racing wheel controller to be able to enjoy playing these simulation racing games like GTR 2, Race - The WTCC Game, GT Legends, etc. TOCA Race Driver 3 is playable with just a keyboard. Hmmm.. I think I'll try that one too this year. ^_^
I will definitely buy a racing wheel from CD-R King by June or later months. Theirs only cost P880 compared to logitech's MOMO racing wheel which is about P4850. Geez...

Why Dogs Don't Live As Long As People
======================================
Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year- old Irish Wolfhound named Belker. The dog's owners, Ron, his wife Lisa, and their little boy, Shane, were all very much attached to Belker and they were hoping for a miracle.
I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family there were no miracles left for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home. As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would be good the four-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might learn something from the experience.
The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belker's family surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that I wondered if he understood what was going on.
Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away. The little boy seemed to accept Belker's transition without any difficulty or confusion. We sat together for a while after Belker's death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives.
Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, "I know why."
Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned me. I'd never heard a more comforting explanation. He said, "People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?" The four-year-old continued, "Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long."
Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly.

Happy New Year! ^_^ NFS Carbon
Now for NFS Carbon Review:
Need for Speed: Carbon has the same graphics look with its predecessor, NFS Most Wanted. However, the similarity ends there. Carbon lost a lot of things that made Most Wanted a success namely: difficulty and game stability.
Most Wanted's blacklist style proved to be the center of difficulty in the game. To face a blacklist racer, requirements must be accomplished first. These requirements(e.g. number of races to be won, bounty) that each blacklist racer requires from the player will take some time to accomplish. Carbon on the other hand requires the player to conquer all the zones in the boss's territory before they can be given the chance to race with the latter. 15 bosses(Most wanted) compared to 4 bosses(Carbon). 4 bosses could have been fairly good enough if the bounty is also requirement for boss races. Furthermore, adding the Canyon races did not help increase the level of difficulty of the game. I just hope that for the next installment of need for speed they'll consider adding this again (i.e. if their theme is still underground racing).
Moving on, one thing that I really hate with Carbon, which in fact made me really frustrated, was the game's instability. I have experienced a lot of crashes during races and while on the menu screen. It's all due to the graphics engine I believe and a lot of players are also whining on this problem. I haven't experienced these type of crashes on my Most Wanted playing days. I hope the EA people can do the better job on the next NFS.
Well, that's all I have to say about NFS Carbon. Happy New Year once again and may we all have a blessed and fruitful year on 2007. ^_^

kids and nieces
not a kid anymore but my 12-year old niece is someone i like to talk with about a lot of things. an intelligent and beautiful lass, we have so many things in common like playing computer games, striving for excellence in studies, being in a school drum & bugle corps. and etc. i hope that she'll have great achievements in her studies.
my other two nieces, both 14 years old, the first one is a bit chubby but still pretty and the second one is the most beautiful of them all . the latter wants to become a flight stewardess. i haven't talked to her that much but i believe she's a smart girl. the former is also a computer game addict. i just hope they'll prioritize their studies among other things.
well, that's all about my nephew and nieces here. sad to say thought that my father and i will be leaving on saturday evening to catch our flight to Davao on 4:20am of sunday. i'm looking forward to coming back here. for me, they have become my siblings... quite an annoying thing to say for someone who has been used for having no siblings. hehe..
5 days to go before xmas ^_^

start of vacation
at last vacation. i'd still be doing a lot of self-learning endeavours this christmas vacation. i would be studying asp.net 2.0, css, javascript, and .net 3.0 particularly WCF. it's all for work. i hope i can gain enough knowledge for me to work smoothly on our upcoming projects. i'm gonna miss making stand-alone applications. i'll still be involved with some windows apps but it's just for bug-fixing and RFCs.
i hope i can finish nfs carbon during this vacation also. no random crashes hopefully. i want to try trackmania united too. i hunger for more racing games but there's nothing new in the market since nfs carbon.
advance merry christmas and a happy new year to everyone... ^_^

nfs carbon sucks; nba live 07 fever
nfs carbon sucks because of its frequent crashing during the gameplay. at one point in a race, in a particular location of the track the game suddenly crashes. in addition, the career mode is less challenging than the usual NFS game there was. In fact, one can finish the game (if there are no crashes) in less than 12 hours. i'm stucked at conquering two other territories in career mode because of the crashes. i hope EA can make up for the next installment of NFS next year, they better should.
in the meantime, i'm playing nba live 07 in dynasty mode for most of my free time now. my standing is 12-1. if only i didn't rely on the simulation versus utah jazz it could have been a no-loss record hehehe.. that's all for now. i'm eyeing to play FPS games like splinter cell or call of duty. i hope i can buy one soon..
catch you later guys... ^_^

the party; gift check
the party was fun. one band performance by our officemates (not part of the band contest proper) was really hilarious because of their songs and the vocalist's voice. his voice suits their songs and we the audience would go wild laughing. our group named Davy Learns to Rock, which I proudly suggested to be our groups name, won the 2nd place with an average score of 93%. the first place got an average of 93.33% so I was quite to hear that considering that they're actually band performers while our group is composed of dancers and choir members haha! my right hand ached after our performance. It was my first time to play the drums after 8 years wheeeww. And after our dance number I was gasping terribly for air because I have a cough. Man! It sure is tough to dance with a cough.
I received an NBA Live 07 pc version game and a NFS underground 2 game. weeeeeeeee!!! another game in queue to be finished. we were also given SM gift cheques worth 1000. we'll be going to SM after i finish this blog. hehehe.. I'm planning to buy a pair of long pants for an office wear. Now what other things to buy... hmmmm...
