Xmas Party!

@exander yeah, the movie is a total disappointment. I feel sorry that the characters were made in a story like that. They could have been used greatly in a more exciting and fun story.

It's our Christmas party today. Yeah, I know it's not yet December *cough. Our party was supposed to be tomorrow (Dec. 1). But because of the Bonifacio Day being moved tomorrow so the party was moved today. Our party's gonna start at 6pm. I have a shoulder bag for my manita. I hope she'll like it. She better does or else. hehehe! ^_^

Catch you later guys! ^_^

happy feet; work on asean summit; nfs

me, my girlfriend and a batchmate in college (also an officemate) went to watch Happy Feet today. Like Punzki, I wasn't happy with the plot of the movie. In fact, during the middle part of the movie I kept saying to myself "where is the story leading to?" If it wasn't for the cute penguins, tap dancing genius Mumble, funny Latino penguins (as Punzki describe them), the movie would be a total disappointment.

And oh by the way, we'll be having work (as unexpected) during the ASEAN Summit here in Cebu from Dec. 11-14. A lot of our officemates are complaining because they'll be a having hard time to get to our office because there'll be roads that will be blocked during the summit. as for me and my girlfriend, we have no problems about this because we live near our office.

I'm nearly halfway of completing NFS Carbon. Hopefully I can finish it for the next two weeks. I can't really play it continuously because there are a lot of things to do. *sigh.

See 'ya around guys! ^_^

PS 3 overpricing

PS 3 is being sold at Toy Kingdom at 45, 000 for a 20GB and 60, 000 for a 60GB. Whaaaatttt??? What a price. Its' way too much than the original retail price in the US. I miss playing console games. It was during my elementary years that I was able to have lots of time to play one, a PS 1. Men, it really sucks to buy a console with that kind of price. I wish I'll be able to buy one when I settle down with melay.. ^_^

On a side note, I had a fever last night. Thanks to melay I was able to take biogesic twice, which made me recover just in time for work.

sick; drums

i have a cough and tonsilitis right now.. and my eyes just want to close... *sigh.. i hope i can make it through the day. we'll be practicing our dance number too around 6pm..

anyway, me and my teammates had our first band practice for our christmas party's (Nov. 30?!) contest entitled Banda Rito. We'll be playing Narda, Walking on Sunshine, and an original composition which doesn't have a title yet. I'm on the drums and it felt really good to play it. Yeah!!! I missed playing drums. The last time I played it was during our parade in celebration of the Sinulog Festival in Digos City. That was way back 1998, my first year in high school. Last night was my first time to play the drum set. I only use my imagination to practice playing the songs when I'm at home. And boy, Walking on Sunshine was really tough to play. The difficulty is the endurance to play it because of an upbeat tempo. My right foot surrenders because of it.

That's all for now, *cough *cough. I hope this cough won't last for long. I hate cough...

Mighty Fist

Pacquiao won! woohoo! Morales was definitely overwhelmed by Pacquiao. I didn't expect the fight to end that quickly though. Morales looked so awful because of his weight-loss training. He became so weak to handle the punches of Manny. The latter had even polished his techniques which is too much for Morales to handle.
'Till the next fight Manny!

A Happy Night

My girlfriend bought for me a UniSilver chain bracelet. This is supposed to be her gift for me during our anniversary but due to unforeseen circumstances she wasn't able to buy one. Weeeeee!! After so many years, I finally got one that is a genuine silver. What i always had before are just fake silver that failed to last a long time. I'll make this one last forever (hopefully). ^_^

After buying the bracelet at Ayala Center Cebu. We then went to SM to buy gifts for her family. We were only able to buy a perfume for her father and a toy car for her nephew. I also bought a Molecules shirt for myself and upon paying for it I decided to give my girlfriend a surprise as I was looking at the leaflet attached with the receipt. (An ad about buying a bracelet for a discounted price. Those typical coupons you get when you buy a minimum of Php300.) Instead of buying a bracelet though, I ended up buying a gold bracelet, earrings and a necklace for only Php299.00. The original price of the set was more than a Php1000! Great deal right? After paying for it, I gave it to her and told her to open it when we get to home (at her boarding house actually). But upon getting in a taxi she opened it immediately and she has full of smile and saying "Wow! Ang ganda (Wow! So beautiful)". I'm so happy to see her smiling all the way to her boarding house while holding my hand so tight. What a happy night it was.

P.S.
I'm 8% away from completing the career in NFS Carbon. I'll be posting a review about it tomorrow, hopefully if I have time.

Finally!

I finally got a copy of NFS carbon. I've just installed it and I'm gonna test it by playing just a quick race. I also bought a copy of Call of Duty 2. Unfortunately, the store didn't have a copy of GTR 2, which is a great racing simulator. It even got a rating of 9.0 at gamespot. NFS Carbon, meanwhile, was only rated at 7.6. A lot of bad comments have risen about it by gamers. I still would play it though because I have loved NFS ever since its PlayStation 1 days.

I'll be posting my comments about the games. See ya!

next-gen console war

who will win the next-generation console war? Nintendo Revo, Xbox 360, or PS 3? i read an article from T3 magazine a few months ago about this and it states that all three console platforms will have a decent number of fans all over the world. this means that there'll be no loser in their competition, which officially started on nov. 11 when PS 3 was released (finally!).

what to dance

i'm halfway done on mixing our music for an intermission number during our christmas party this december 1. and right now, i have run out of songs. waaaaa!! i want to finish the mix tonight or tomorrow evening. after the music will be the choreography... wheww... but i can't help it, i love dancing so much.. ^_^

basketball; growing up

I played basketball this afternoon together with my officemates. we played at the Sacred Heart School managed by the Jesuits. Whenever I play at their courts, I always remember my college days at my alma mater (Ateneo de Davao University). And I can't help to tell myself that "times flies so, so fast.. I never thought I'm already working."

sometimes I wish that I can get back to work at Davao. But, there are no companies that can attract my interest there... How I wish there is one.

hehehe.. enough of this stuff.. any ideas what i can give to a girl for an exchange gift?

chow!

Vista as the end??? No way...

I found an interesting article by John C. Dvorak at the PCMag website. It's entitled Is vista a Dead End?. He said that Vista might be the end OS of Microsoft because the software giant has no more ideas left. He even stated that if Apple loses ideass and so does Microsoft. Anyway, I also thought about it. Not that Vista being the end OS but what OS will Microsoft create next after Vista. Mr. Dvorak theorize that Microsoft could work on an OS that will fully utilize the multicore CPUs that we have now. That would be very interesting... hmmmmm...

I wonder, what would be the next OS after Vista. What will Microsoft have in store for us in the future...

Notebook for a mad scientist

This is the most bizarre notebook computer that i've ever seen. This is NEC TYPE NO-1 developed by NEC and Takara. This has a 15.4-inch WXGA display, 1.6GHz AMD Mobile Sempron 3200+ processor (Turion 64 X2 TL-50), 1GB of DDR2 RAM, 80-100GB hard drive, dual-layer DVD burner, and 802.11a/b/g wireless networking capabilities.

The red button on the side is the power button. Neat right? But I really wouldn't want to own one like this. hehe..

Racing games

need for speed: carbon has been released last week. i'm dying to play one but the datablitz here in cebu (both in sm and ayala branches) don't have copies yet. there are a couple of bad feedbacks on this game, but no matter what they say i'll still play this one. i've played nfs games from the playstation one console and continued playing it on the pc versions of nfs underground 1/2 and most wanted.

i'm also drooling to play GTR 2. datablitz has it but i don't have the money to buy for it yet. *sigh...

for those racing game fans out there you can also try GT Legends and TOCA Race Driver 3. That's all for now... ^_^

globe visibility or pldt weroam?

i'm torned between choosing globe visibility or pldt weroam as a mobile broadband connection for my notebook. visibility cost P2000/month while weroam is P1700/month. they both serve unlimited wifi, hsdpa/3g, gprs and edge. i heard that weroam doesn't have a stable connection and so does visibility too. as it turns out, pldt weroam has the advantage right? but which is which?

i can't provide any papers for a proof of billing if i will apply 'coz i don't have a credit card yet, darn. i guess i'll just have to stick with using my n70 as a modem to connect to the internet.

About me

for those who do not know me yet, my name's joemelle bacus. i'm currently working at NCR Cebu Development Center Inc. as a software development engineer.

so what's more about me.. hmmmm.. my birthday falls on december 8 (next month, weeeee!!) and it's the solemnity of the immaculate concepcion (cool!). i have a girlfriend and her name is Melanie Mamugay. i love computers and technology. i like anime (watching anime episodes and reading manga). i love chocolates!

i guess that sums up the things about me. oh, i love to dance too! ^ __ ^

hi

hi! this is my first blog after 2 years of non-blogging experience... that's all for now.. i'll introduce myself later on.. ^_^
